François Boucher, 1755French painter Francois Boucher was perhaps the most acclaimed decorative artist of the eighteenth century, known for his sensuous and idealized paintings on classical themes, elegant allegories, and pastoral scenes. Boucher’s work reflected the Rococo style of art characterized by elaborate ornamentation and a delicate, refined approach to the medium.
