John Everett Millais

John Everett Millais was a nineteenth century English painter who co-founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood - a group that sought to bring back the extreme detail, intense color and complex compositions that were present in fifteenth century painting methods. Millais exhibited talent early on, and was the youngest student to enter the Royal Academy School at age eleven. His skill brought him notoriety and success during his career - in fact, Millais was one of the wealthiest living artists during his time.
