Inspired by masters like Courbet and Corot, Camille Pissaro - a French-born painter - was a pivotal figure within the Impressionist movement. Known for his small, comma-like brushstrokes, and his depictions of rural and urban scenes, Pissaro’s work often displayed empathy towards the French working class. Pissarro is the only artist to have shown his works at all eight of the Paris Impressionist exhibitions, and was ultimately coined the “Father of Impressionism”.
