Peter Paul Rubens

Peter Paul Rubens - a prolific seventeenth century, Baroque painter - created works abundant in scenes of religion, history and mythology. His paintings, which were highly regarded for their realism and lavish color, were made for the likes of churches and royal families. Rubens worked so often with royalty that he became known as “the prince of painters and the painter of princes”.
