The George Eastman Museum is one of the world’s oldest institutions dedicated to photography, with a film archive dating back to 1949. The museum is located on the estate of entrepreneur, and founder of Kodak, George Eastman, in Rochester, New York. The museum hosts the largest number of daguerrotypes, a major collection by renowed photographer Ansel Adams, as well as a variety of 19th century photographers like Carleton Watkins, Eadweard Muybridge, and Timothy H. O’Sullivan.
