Paul Serusier

French painter, Paul Sérusier, was a pioneer of abstract art and an inspiration for avant-garde movements like Les Nabis, Synthetism, and Cloisonnism. All of these - which were part of the post-impressionist style of painting - explored the use of line, color, and form to invoke an emotional and spiritual response. In 1888, Sérusier completed The Talisman, one of his most well-known works, and a seminal landscape painting that launched the start of the Nabis group.
