Vallotton

A gallery dedicated to the work of Félix Edouard Vallotton, a printmaker and painter working in Paris at the turn of the century. Vallotton was closely associated with the avant-garde group of artists known as Les Nabis and, early in his career, he developed an innovative, graphic style of woodcut, the style of which is reflected in his paintings, which are characterized by flat colors, unusual compositions, strong lines and pared down detail.
