Contemporary
Contemporary Art is marked not by a dominant movement or “-ism,” but rather by the blossoming of countless trajectories of exploration occurring in the 21st century. This expansion has been driven forward by new mediums of expression such as video and virtual reality art, as well as by developing theories of identity and perception. Contemporary artists strive to respond to the political, social, and aesthetic conditions of living in an increasingly complex world.
