Gari Melchers

Julius Garibaldi Melchers, better known as Gari Melchers, was one of the leading American artists of naturalism. Melchers was a native of Detroit, Michigan, but his studies brought him to Europe where he, alongside fellow American artist George Hitchcock, founded an art colony in the Netherlands.
