Grainne Dowling

Grainne Dowling is an Irish artist whose inspiration comes from the coastline of West Ireland, where she was born, and the ever-changing skies of Curragh, Co. Kildare, where she lives now. While studying ceramics, sculpture, and painting at the Crawford College of Art and Design, she took a year off to live in Vienna, Austria. It was there that she fell in love with painting. Today, her gestural and expressive work can be found in collections around the world. “I like to express the landscape in an emotional way,” she says. “My use of color is layered, textured, unconventional and contemporary.”
