Henry Peach Robinson was an English photographer who worked with the emerging medium in the late 19th century. He was one of the first artists to establish photography as a legitimate art medium—not just a technological apparatus. His revolutionary works combined different photographic negatives into one print—not unlike a very early version of Photoshop. He also published many books and essays on the artistic value of photography.
