Jāzeps Grosvalds was a Latvian painter who worked in the early 20th century. He traveled throughout most of his career, resulting in works that combined European Modernism and emerging abstraction with a uniquely Latvian sensibility. His revolutionary style greatly influenced art in Latvia, bringing the remote country into an era of increased modernism.
