Leon Bakst

Leon Bakst was a Belarus-born painter and theatrical designer. He was a member of the Sergei Diaghilev circle and designed elaborate sets and costumes for the Ballets Russes. Baskt taught painting in the Zvantseva School, where he notably mentored a young Marc Chagall.
