Marianne von Werefkin

Marianne von Werefkin was a Russian-Swiss Expressionist painter who began her career studying under the Russian realist, Ilya Repin. Werefkin frequently worked with Wassily Kandinsky, Alexej von Jawlensky, and Gabriele Münter. She exhibited her work with the Munich New Artist’s Association and the Blue Riders. (The Art Story)
