Arthur Lismer was an English-Canadian painter and member of the Group of Seven, a collection of artists who sought to multiply and modernize depictions of the Canadian landscape. He is known for his paintings of decorated and camouflaged ships. As an art educator, Lismer believed that art can and should aid humanity in embracing change.
