Hans Holbein the Younger was a German artist and printmaker who worked during the Northern Renaissance. He is best known as one of the greatest portraitists of the 16th century. He saw renown during his lifetime and is famed for his likenesses of historical figures including Henry VIII, Sir Thomas More, and Erasmus of Rotterdam.
