Nicolas Monterrat

Nicolas Monterrat is a digital artist who lives and works in Paris, his hometown. Fostering a lifelong love of animation, Monterrat has spent the last 6 years creating GIF-based works that twist reality into surreal, animated images. He often transforms old photographs into fantastical, contemporary, humorous works. Monterrat has stated that GIFs allow him to build an imaginary and positive place in an otherwise bleak world. “I just want to make fun, entertain, intrigue, stimulate the imagination, and mesmerize too.”
