Leland Melvin is an engineer, former NFL wide receiver, and NASA astronaut. He served on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis as a mission specialist on mission STS-122 (2008) and STS-129 (2009), helping to construct the International Space Station.

Besides his accomplishments in science and on the field, Melvin has a knack for photography. During his time on the ISS in 2008, as well as the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 2009, he took images of the blue world below.
