The Australian artist David Davies is best known for being associated with the Heidelberg School. This group is also referred to as the Australian Impressionists, and a quick look at Davies’ work shows why. Not only did he paint en plein air, but his compositions are filtered through a blurry, nearly pixelated filter that would be at home next to the work of the French Impressionists.
